Low income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is funded by the Federal Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and provides two basic types of services. Eligible low- income persons, via local governmental and nonprofit organizations, can receive financial assistance to offset the cost of heating and/or cooling homes, and/or have their homes weatherized to make them more energy efficient. Locally, LIHEAP is administered by Lassen Economic Development Corporation located in Westwood California. Applications may also be picked up in Susanville at the Social Security office, Alliance for Workforce Development, and the City of Susanville.
