Adult Protective Services serves both elder and dependent adults living in the communities of Lassen County. APS has an emergency response system that can respond 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to referrals of Abuse and/or Neglect of an Elder or Dependent Adult involving life threatening situations or crisis or financial abuse. An elder adult is a person aged 60 years or older. A dependent adult is aged 18-59 years. IHSS Program will help pay for services provided to you so that you can remain safely in your own home. IHSS is considered an alternative to out-of-home care, such as nursing homes or board and care facilities. IHSS authorized services can include housecleaning, meal preparation, laundry, grocery shopping, personal care services and accompaniment to medical appointments, or protective supervision for the mentally impaired.
