Susanville Fire Department (Safe Surrender)

Banner Lassen Medical Center, Lassen County Public Health, and the Susanville Fire Department are all safe surrender sites. Safe surrender, under the Safe Haven Law, is a program designed to save lives of newborn infants at risk of abandonment by encouraging parents with lawful custody to safely surrender the infant within 72 hours of birth, with no questions asked.
